Majorcan Pea Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
This bean’s known heritage goes back only to the 1980's when a HSL member brought some back from a Majorcan market. The seeds are typical bicolour of pea beans, however the marron half is additionally striped with brown. Produces tall (up to 2.5m) strong vines and a good yield of tasty pods which can be a bit stringy if used fresh, best as a drying bean.
