Miniature white cucumber
Cucumis sativus
Story: Beautiful white cucumber best picked when quite young at about 2'', these grew well for us as a compact vine which happily climbed supports and nets. The fruit becomes gradually more yellow as the fruits age - developing a nice lemony flavour. We originally recieved this seed from the Heritage Seed Library.
Sow: indoors in April.
Requirements: Like other cucumber varieties, this would do best in a greenhouse or conservatory. Full sun, and moist soil.
Harvesting: for eating: pick fruits when young and firm. For seed harvesting: leave the fruit on the plant for as long as possible and be sure to let them fully ripen to yellow.
Please remember, we only send out three packs of seed. If you order more than this, you will receive just three packs to begin with. This is to ensure we get plenty of data in return, and to keep our stocks sustainable for years to come.
